Review Delirium - Lauren Oliver

Synopsis:

It's the xxii century. When people reach18 years old they subject themselves  in a operation that steals your feelings.

Lena Tiddle is a 17-years-old girl that lives in Portland, a cured city. She's an obedient girl that has always respected the rules (she doesn't have contact with boys, she goes home at the curfew, she practise for her evaluations, etc) until she meets a boy in the laboratory.

He changes her life radically. He shows her that there are some funny illegalities, that there's another world behind the rules and the borders.

She's infected of deliria (love's illness): the most deadly illness of the world.

Personal opinion:

Oliver writes very well. She's a wonderful author that describes perfectly and that has a varied vocabulary.

Lauren knows how to make perfect scenes. She tells you all the details of the characters and the actions and at the same time she introduces flashbacks.

She builts an incredible dystopia with a topic so daily. It's has been treatry perfectly, the idea is so original and she's able to develop it correctly, without mistakes or other problems.

In the first 60-70 pages she tells you how is the world, how it Works and all the rules it has. This was my favuorite part :)

The characters are excellent. They are compensated with each other. I loved all of them!!! Especially Alex and Lena.

Lena's family is so snooty (except Gracie). They are cold so they don't want to be kind with her. I hate them because they don't act like a real family, they completely ignore the protagonist.

Hana and Grace are fantastic. They take care of Lena. I like them so much.

And the best in the end: Alex.

He's absolutely perfect. He shows Lena lots of wonderful things. He loves her and because of this he wants to save her from Portland, a city without emotions but not without danger and bad people.

Lena is brave. The kind of girl that we usually don't see in literature or in real life. She's amazing, she fights for her friends, she defends her ideas, she's a reliable woman.

Conclusion:

It's a charming story with lots of action and adventure, that will captivate your heart, literally.

I recommend it if you like fantasy or dystopia books. It's incredible!!!
