Review The outliers - Kimberly MccReight

Resultat d'imatges de kimberly mccreight the outliersSynopsis:

Wylie hasn’t heard from Cassie in over a week, not since their last fight. But that doesn’t matter. Cassie’s in trouble, so Wylie decides to do what she has done so many times before: save her best friend from herself.

This time it’s different, though. Instead of telling Wylie where she is, Cassie sends cryptic clues. And instead of having Wylie come by herself, Jasper shows up saying Cassie sent him to help. Trusting the guy who sent Cassie off the rails doesn’t feel right, but Wylie has no choice: she has to ignore her gut instinct and go with him.

But figuring out where Cassie is goes from difficult to dangerous, fast. As Wylie and Jasper head farther and farther north into the dense woods of Maine, Wylie struggles to control her growing sense that something is really wrong. What isn’t Cassie telling them? And could finding her be only the beginning?

My Synopsis:

Wyle's life isn't easy. Her mother seemed to die in a car's accident six months ago

It harms Wyle causing anxiety and apprehension of going out of her home.

His father is a scientist that studies how the people receive the feelings and how they answer to it.

He's not kind with her and his twin, Giddeon, and this doesn't improve the relationship.

The storie begins one day when Wyle receives a call from Cassie's mother (her best friend) saying that Cassie is missing.
Wyle's father decides to go out and try to look for Cassie, while Wyle stays at home; but not for a long time because Jasper (Cassie's boyfriend) goes to Wyle's home to tell her that he has received some cryptic messages send by Cassie.

In this moment they leave Wyle's home and start searching Cassie. They live some horrific moments, but thanks to their strengths Jasper and Wyle remain united.

It's a dangerous adventure with things that aren't what they seem and with some surprises.

Personal opinion:

My hopes were that the book would be frenetic, exciting and mysterious, but at the end it wasn't like this.

First because all the novel revolve around the Wyle's father investigation instead of Cassie's kidnapping; and second because it isn't as incredible as they say.

The author writes and describes very good. She creates that kind of air that makes you feel confuse. This is cool because not everyone has the ability to do it.

The characters are amazing. They feel real feelings, the situations make you feel afraid.
My favuorite is Jasper because is so kind, brave and sweet.
Wyle is also brave and clever, she fights for her friends and defends all the things she loves.

I hate the flashbacks because they confuse you a lot. When you return back to the scene you don't remember what was going on.

In some moments I thought that the plot didn't have sense, but fortunetly in the end they explain you all the myteries.

Score:

With my expectives -> 7/10
Without them -> 9/10

Pd: The end is so fascinating. I've made research and I found that in the future there'll be a second part.
